This painting is actually from like, 2017 I think? I had a lot of fun creating this one. I restricted myself to a 5 color palette to try to test myself. I didn’t allow myself to adjust the colors in any way during the creation process. I didn’t even know what I was going to paint when I started, I just sort of went for it.
The colors told me to paint this Phoenix. I didn’t want to make one being born or dying out. I wanted it to just be living its life as a smoldering and majestic beast. I hope that you enjoy the piece as much as I do.
