I don't actually have a heck of a lot to say about it. I just figured since literally every other media outlet, blog, content creator, artist, and random fuckwad in the universe was posting something about Elon and his takeover of Twitter that I probably should to. The thing is, I don't actually have that strong of an opinion on the situation at the moment. Is his habit of shitposting alongside actual updates regarding things like SpaceX and Twitter changes hilarious? Yes. Do I think that he's being wildly more transparent that any other billionaire tech mogul? Also, Yes. Anything else I think about the situation, or Elon as a person, is entirely speculative. I don't know him. I don't know what he actually does on any given day. I've never run a business the scale of any one of the businesses that he owns or operates. I've never owned or managed an entire social media platform. I have absolutely no way of knowing how much work any of the employees he recently let go were doing. Much less, what sort of work they were doing.
I can speculate that the majority of employees were tasked with additional development, marketing, public relations, human resources, and other duties not critical to the daily functions of the website it's self. Do I know this for a fact? No. Does that mean it isn't true? Also, No.
At the end of the day, even people who may be directly involved or impacted are filling in some of the blanks with their own speculations. Personally, I think that there are much more productive ways for folks to spend their energies. Every single day we have in this life is a chance to learn, change, and grow. It's perfectly fine to have thoughts, feelings, and opinions, but make sure you're spending energy on the things that help you be a better version of yourself. Whatever that may mean to you. That's it. That's the Post. You can go now. <3
